At an early age, he moved back to Nigeria to pursue a high school education at the Kings College, Lagos. Rotimi later moved back to United Kingdom to study physics and computer science at reading university, where he received a bachelor’s degree, he later studied financial computing at Brunel University.

Rotimi is married to Tinuke ogundero in 2015, and he is a nephew to Nigerian richest woman Folorunsho Alakija.
He started his professional disc jockey career in 2003 by performing at various night clubs, including Aura Mayfair, penthouse, funky Buddha and Jalouse.
DJ xclusive have performed with international artist like Neyo, Rihanna, Mario winans, Brick and lace, Nas and Fat joe. In 2011, he became resident DJ for cool fm 96.9 and also joined Empire mate Entertainment as Wizkid official DJ.
